UniAccount Password

This function allows you to change the password of your UniAccount.

Your current wifi-password is not going to be changed. So, for wifi-connection, you have to use your old password.

This affects for example the following systems: UniMail (Access to your mailbox using IMAP, POP3, SMTP and Webmaile), ServicePortal, library, Moodle, LSF, room reservation system of  UB and  ITMC, Shibboleth, UniFlow printing and copying, depot services and SAP-Portal.

Please note: It can take up to 15 minutes until all connected systems are updated.

Policies for the new password

1. Minimum 14 characters, maximum 40.
2. Allowed characters: uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and the following special characters !_-
3. German umlauts and other non-ASCII characters are not allowed.
4. It isn't allowed to start with a special character !_- or 3 equal characters (i.e. aaa).
5. The first three characters of the password may not appear in the same order as in your UniAccount.
6. The new password isn't allowed to be identical to your UniAccount (even read backwards!).
7. The new password isn't allowed to be identical to your old password.

Security notice: Your new password is automatically checked against a database as you enter it in order to protect your account from the use of previously compromised passwords.
